Join me as I chat with Chris Sanderson about hard-hitting, affiliate-facing issues (part TWO will focus on affiliate manager-facing issues) and occasional light hearted social commentary on Super Bowl and the very North American concept of "tipping for service."
On the more serious side, Bankok-based Sanderson points at recent backlash and predicts more changes coming from search engines like Google as, he says, "affiliates are losing site of the fact that they are trying to present information to the consumer not just about pushing more and more pages onto the Internet just to get search engine results."
What are Sanderson's perspectives on affiliate trademark bidding in search engines? What about affiliate marketing on an international scale and, in particular, Asia and Australia? Tune in via streaming or download MP3 today!

I love Seth, he rocks... okay the Big Moo wasn't the greatest, too much randomness, but other wise Seth rules, so when I stumbled upon Squidoo some months back I just HAD to sign up as a Beta User.
It probably has not come to very many folks' attention that I haven't been blogging (or commenting) recently. So it may not be news that I am blogging again. But here's what I want to say - there is room in this industry for a plethora of ideas and business practices.
There are certain things that every AM has in his or her bag of tricks: a newsletter, a datafeed, and some contests. I love the idea of a newsletter even if only 4 people ever read them, and datafeeds should be mandatory, but the contests...how I hate them.
Japan is one of the countries that still gets me nervous when travelling there. It's not the food, it's not the flying, it's still something I can't quite pin point!
Next week, I'll be making the long journey from right to left (east coast to west coast) to attend CJU. I'm really looking forward to it. Many of my co-workers are making cracks like "Oh sure! That'll just be one big party!" or "Must be nice... on the beach in sunny California." Of course, I deny that the weather or the parties are why I like going. I usually respond with something along the lines of, "I'm looking forward to striking some new deals to breathe new vitality into the affiliate program." But that's not quite the reason why, either.
